Our Vision

To support a community where women and girls lead the way in building thriving, climate resilient businesses - creating lasting impact for themselves and future generations.

How It Works

Ubunye’s community-led approach means the Yendella Project is designed and driven by local women and youth.

For Women:

  • A local women’s group chose to establish a poultry farm

  • Ubunye provided training in chicken care, business skills, and marketing

  • Seed funding helped launch the business and secure its future

For Young People:

  • Youth receive mentorship and guidance to:

    • Launch and manage small enterprises

    • Access training and education opportunities

    • Pursue the jobs they dream of doing

  • One group of young women is working to open a backpackers’ lodge on the farm, giving visitors an authentic isiXhosa experience. Ubunye is supporting them to develop a strategy and raise startup funds

Why It Matters

In an area where economic opportunities are limited, the Yendella Project gives women and youth the tools to lead local solutions – transforming challenges into enterprise, confidence, and community resilience.
