Good day, Ubunye Family!!

Welcome to my weekly roundup on the blog where we take a look at what happened during the week from the eyes of our social media representative.

This week has been filled with admin, with each day bringing its own learning opportunities. At the heart of it all (as always) – community leadership!!

Monday and Tuesday

This week was all about office work, getting blogs together, and conducting research. So, I am going to do things a little different today and combine some of the days, as a lot of the work I did this week, fell into the next day. This week started off with getting the weekly blog together as I had some technical difficulties last week. So, apologies for that, but we can’t always have great days – and when we do experience some challenges, it’s about getting back up and finding solutions. This Monday, I put together the blog again so that I could get it to you all. Once this was done and while I was waiting for feedback, I spent the rest of the Monday and Tuesday looking at a new research project I am working on. So, without giving too much away, because I do want to introduce this research with a bang, I am looking at the origins of the Ubunye Foundation. So, this week is really about getting interview questions together, contacting the relevant people and scheduling a time to meet.

Wednesday

We started off Wednesday with some unfortunate technical difficulties – again!! The blog that was redone on the Monday, did not reflect on our social media, so that needed to be fixed. Once those emails were sent, and while I was waiting for reply backs, I got to work on the research project. I have the interview questions completed and reply backs from some of the people I want to interview. Now we wait to hear back on when they will be available to meet.

Thursday and Friday

Thursday and Friday were about finishing up new blogs and working on the research project. I started writing this very blog on Thursday, after I posted the previous blog. The rest of the Thursday I worked on the research project, looking at creating an introduction based on what I already know about the Ubunye Foundation.

On the Friday, I plan to post another blog looking at the Ikamva Lolutsha Like Skills Programme after speaking to our Training Officer, Lime Badu, who happens to be a wonderful and very insightful and helpful individual – she’s always a pleasure to talk to and always bring a smile to my face. The Ikamva Lolutsha Life Skills Programme is about young people and their futures. The Ubunye Foundation partners with young people and assists them in following their dreams by creating life plans that they can work towards and by supporting them to achieve their goals. Through the Ikamva Lolutsha Life Skills training, young people are encouraged to think and dream of the future they want. The Ubunye Foundation team then assists them in creating a life plan to work towards that dream. These life plans could be to have their own business, finish their studies, or work towards a career, whatever it may be, the Ubunye Foundation is there to give them the skills and support that they need to achieve those goals – but you should definitely click on the link for the Ikamva Lolutsha blog and read more!!

Conclusion

This week has been a blend of hard work, with fixing a lot of technical difficulties. Each day brought its own set of joys, contributing to a week filled with learning. As we look forward to the next week, let us carry forward the enthusiasm that made this week so great.

Thank you for joining me on this journey through the week’s activities. Stay tuned for more adventures and insights in the next post!!
