Meet Lihlumile Basi, the only grade 6 learner who is part of the Khula Nathi Music Programme. On the second week of the programme Lihlumile had asked to join the music classes and he showed so much interest. He has been an amazing student, very helpful. Not only does he play the soprano recorder, he has recently started playing the alto recorder which is slightly bigger than the recorder that everyone plays.

"Joining the Music group was the best decision I have made, because I have always wanted to learn music. My uncle is also a musicians and I have always looked up to him. When the music was introduced at school I was very happy, but they only allowed grade 4 and 5s and I was in grade 6. I was very sad but I went to ask if I could join, and I promised that I would practice every day, I was very happy and excited when I was allowed to be part of the group and attended my first music lesson.
I am looking forward to the concert, my whole family will be coming to watch me, and they will see me playing the big recorder (alto recorder). My favourite song that we play is 'Joy to the world'"
