Across 15 rural schools in the Eastern Cape, something extraordinary is happening. Students are writing chants and poems, designing team jerseys, debating fiercely, and training for the soccer and netball pitch. This is the Ubunye Challenge Cup - a community-led celebration of creativity, competition, and connection.
From now until October, schools will be buzzing with excitement as learners take part in friendly competitions that go beyond sport: art, music, debate, and teamwork are all part of the journey. The Cup culminates in a Finals Day where top teams and artists gather to showcase their talent – and their community spirit.
This isn’t just a tournament. It’s an invitation to belong, to grow, and to be seen.
