Where bad toilets end and BEAUTIFUL TOILETS BEGIN!

The Beautiful Toilet Project
Ubunye has started a brand new project 'The Beautiful Toilet Project'. Yes that's right, Beautiful Toilets. We want them to be beautiful in the eyes of over 900 children going to ECD centres in rural communities of Ngqushwa Municipality in the Eastern Cape.
In at least 10 of these ECD centres children are too scared to use them. "We'll fall in and drown" said one of the children at Lingelihle ECD centre.
Thanks to the huge efforts of Ubunye Challenge and an extremely generous donor, Kelly Wright, the whole project has taken off. Together we will be able to do a complete make-over of these 10 ECD centres' toilets. When Kelly made the donation she wrote:
"I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for the work the foundation does on behalf of early childhood development and giving the youth of South Africa a shot at an invaluable education. I also commend your community-minded approach to the advancement of health and wellness in those areas around you that are poverty-stricken. I really look forward to seeing the continued development of some of these facilities and hope it makes a tangible difference in the lives of the individuals who use them. Please feel free to reach out whenever you have something to share as the project progresses".
So to honor Kelly's request, we are launching this blog on our website where we will give regular updates on what is happening. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey - celebrate the successes and experience the challenges as they happen and do send us your thoughts and any questions in the comments box.
