Then please apply for the post of Programme Coordinator of Isisekelo, Ubunye's ECD and Primary Education Programme

​

As Programme Coordinator, you will:

Lead the Isisekelo programmes from a community-led perspective. This will include work with community members using participatory tools to assist in needs and assets appraisal, collaborative concept design and programme framework development, implementation and participatory monitoring and evaluation. 

 

Lead strategic planning with the Isisekelo programme team (including the programme working group), assisting them in conceptualizing their Isisekelo programme objectives, and implementation plans, developing indicators and measuring impact using participatory M&E tools

​

Manage the participatory analysis of Isiskelo programme data, working with programme teams to write accurate and engaging reports and presentations that meet the needs of the community, donors and partners  This will include preparing papers and posters for dissemination at conferences and workshops. 

​

Work with government departments, specifically the Department of Basic Education, to develop collaborative agreements and Memorandum of Understanding and oversee the implementation of the agreements, including a report to Departmental Management Information Systems.  This also includes technical assistance and support to the Department via technical support teams with partner organisations. 

​

Create and participate in ECD and Primary Education networks, developing extended partner relationships within the sector.

​

Pursue the gradual integration of community philanthropy through sustainable ECD centres, savings groups and other community fundraising efforts.

Please only apply if you have the following: 

 

A Bachelors's Degree in Education, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching or other similar fields

​

1-2 years experience working as a Manager in the ECD/Grade R field, preferably in an NGO or other similar agency

 

Speak isi-Xhosa fluently, with excellent spoken and written English

​

Experience in networking and partner collaboration in ECD and Primary School Education sector. 

 

Willing to live in the area (Makhanda) and travel to rural villages to visit ECD centres and schools

​

Excellent computer skills with experience in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and preferably use of mobile M&E apps

​

A clean driving license 

 

South African citizenship or have permanent residence status

​

​

​
